My Philosophy of Practice

I believe the most important aspect of a dental practice is focusing on each patient as an individual and customizing treatment plans specific to each patient's needs and concerns. I also believe that is is crucial to build a relationship of trust and rapport with each patient. Building a relationship with each patient will help the patient to accept treatment plans because of the relationship of trust. I believe in acting in an ethical manner no matter the circumstance. I believe that the patient's oral health and well being comes first and is the priority of the dental office. I will continue to educate myself and stay up to date on current information in order to treat each of my patients with the highest quality of care. I will also work hard to build a relationship of trust and rapport with each patient so that they feel comfortable in my care.

My Practice Values and Purpose

  • Assisting patients in attaining optimal oral health on an individualized basis.
  • Educating patients on the importance of maintaining oral health and on the oral systemic link.
  • Prevention and treatment of oral conditions by creating individualized treatment plans determined by patients needs and concerns.
  • Building a relationship of trust with each patient.
  • Increasing my knowledge by completing continuing education courses and by participating in community events.
  • Work as a team player to create a comfortable and friendly environment for each patient that enters the dental office.
  • Act in an ethical manner in any given situation.

My Goals and Plans

As of now, I would like to work as a part-time dental hygienist in a general dentist office whose values are congruent with mine. I would love to work in an office that values quality oriented and patient-centered care. Prior to my dental hygiene career I worked as a dental assistant in an Endodontic's office. I really enjoyed building a relationship of trust with each patient. I loved that each patent's oral health and well being was placed high above the needs of the office. This allowed our office to be successful and for patients to have a desire to return for future treatment. I would love to work in an office such as this.

Eventually, I would love to work as a Dental Hygienist in a Pediatric office part time as well. I love to educate children on oral health and believe that it would be a rewarding experience to watch children as they gain an education and increase their knowledge on improving their oral health.

One more goal that I have is to travel to other countries to serve those who do not have access to dental care. I believe that this would be very rewarding and would allow me to share my knowledge and abilities with those who are less fortunate without monetary gain.
